The Building Regulations Application Stage - How To Plan For The Design Process Of Your Home Extension - A clients guide.

After you have approved the construction design scheme with your home extension architect or designer they will then be submitting the scheme on your behalf to the Council or other approved imspector for checking and approving the full construction design and works.

During this application process a 'comments / query schedule' will be issued by the Checking Inspector that will need attending to by your selected professional.

You should allow an 8 week period for this element of the design process.

During this application period you should also be submitting the scheme for tender prices from selcted local builders.

Christopher Hunt MCIAT is not an Architect or a member of the RIBA but a Chartered Architectural Technologist - a professional building designer specialising in residential development from home extensions to new builds including conversions and refurbishments.  He is a full member of CIAT which is a different and alternative qualifying body for professionals dealing with building design.
